Our archive in Leiden contains some 5,000 books and music scores, 4,000 CD's, cassettes, magnetic tapes and gramophone records (including many 78 rpm commercial records as well as historical field recordings), and hundreds of video tapes/discs. We subscribe to over one hundred journals in the field of ethnomusicology and Chinese music. We have a small collection of Chinese and Asian instruments on display.

 

Visitors can consult recordings and video documents in our sound room. We do not duplicate recordings kept in our archive. Visitors can borrow books for a maximum of six weeks. The library has xerox facilities. We do not lend out journals or audiovisual materials. We do not provide materials for lending (or copies) by postal mail. We have no on-line catalogue yet.

 

Visits to the archive are possible on appointment. The archive is open on workdays from 10.00 AM to 18.00 PM except during holidays. Contact us by phone or e-mail.
